Roka
I had a christmas dinner yesterday with my friend at Roka but we were also celebrating the 20th anniversary of this savory Japanesse restaurant.
As always, I forgot my umbrella exactly the day that was pouring and when I arrived to Roka I went directly to the bathroom to dry myself. After such an inicident the hostess took me to the table and welcomed me and my friend with a glass of champagne.. The waitress was so nice and she was explaining the menu, she said that because of the 20th anniversary of Roka, they put together in a menu all the top dishes during all those years and they did well!
As a starter we had the salmon tataki with shiso yuzu chilli dressing (my favourite! ), raw salmon, avocado and asparagus with wasabi tobiko and tenkasuand lamb cutlets with korean spices. Then we got the most delicious black cod marinated in yuzu miso. We shared everything with my friend which i highly recommend it, cause you definetly need to try all the dishes.
In between we were enjoying the best Cabernet/ Merlot wine recommended by our waitress which was very suitable for our dishes.
Lastly, we were surprised with this beautiful and huge tray of the chef’s selection osignature desserts, served with seasonal and exotic fruits, ice creams and sorbet. Delicious!
